Chelsea are considering a summer move for Strasbourg midfielder Valentin Barco, who has flourished in France since transitioning from left-back under the observation of the Blues’ multi-club scouting network.
Chelsea are closely monitoring Valentin Barco’s development at sister club Strasbourg ahead of a potential summer transfer.
The 21-year-old Argentine has excelled in Ligue 1 this season, contributing one goal and nine assists across 34 appearances.
Having previously worked with Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior during a loan spell, Barco’s successful transition from a conventional left-back into a creative midfielder has alerted Stamford Bridge officials.
The Blues’ sporting directors are regular attendees at Stade de la Meinau to track Barco’s progress within the BlueCo stable.
With Chelsea looking to upgrade their squad options, a reunion between Barco and Rosenior is increasingly possible.
This interest comes as the club also secured captain Reece James to a long-term deal, with Rosenior stating, “For him to sign a deal and put his faith in us is a massive step.”
