Villa win Europa League for 1st trophy in 30 years

Aston Villa clinical performance guided them to a 3-0 victory over SC Freiburg to win the Europa League final, securing their first major silverware in three decades.

Aston Villa ended a 30-year trophy drought with a commanding 3-0 victory over SC Freiburg in the Europa League final on Wednesday night. First-half strikes from Youri Tielemans and Emiliano Buendía, followed by a post-interval tap-in from Morgan Rogers, sealed the triumph at the Tupras Stadium.

According to ESPN, the historic win marks a record fifth Europa League crown for manager Unai Emery. Among the traveling support was Prince William, who watched captain John McGinn lift the trophy.

“It is hard to put into words. We have worked so hard for this,” Rogers said after the game. “We knew we had one more game and we all delivered and we came through. It is a great moment for the fans, a great moment for the club, and it will go down in history.”
