Nine Premier League players made the Golden Boy 2025 shortlist, but PSG’s Desire Doue is tipped to win after a stellar season.
Nine Premier League players have been nominated for the 2025 Golden Boy award, including five English stars — Ethan Nwaneri, Jobe Bellingham, Nico O’Reilly, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Archie Gray.
France’s Desire Doue, who scored twice in Paris Saint-Germain’s 5–0 Champions League final win over Inter Milan, is widely seen as the favourite. The 20-year-old recorded 15 goals and 16 assists last season and finished 14th in the Ballon d’Or, making him the top contender.
Other Premier League nominees include Estevao Willian, Leny Yoro, Giovanni Leoni, Jorrel Hato, and Lucas Bergvall.
Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsi, another strong candidate, has impressed for both club and country at just 18.
While England’s young talents enjoyed breakthrough seasons, none are expected to rival Doue’s dominance. The award, decided by 50 international journalists, will be announced in November in Turin.
