Real Madrid have formally asked UEFA to strip Barcelona of all trophies won during the period they paid former referee official Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, according to AS.
Real Madrid have gone to UEFA with a bold request: strip Barcelona of every trophy won during Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira’s employment period.
According to AS, Madrid want the Catalan club to hand over documentation covering 2010 to 2018, aiming to establish what anti-corruption controls existed at the time — and whether they were actually enforced.
The request ties back to Barcelona’s 2023 bribery charges, centred on payments made to Negreira, the former vice-president of the Spanish referees’ technical committee.
Courts determined the club funnelled several million euros to him between 2001 and 2018, a period now classified as criminal conduct.
