Max Dowman starred with a goal and an assist as Arsenal defeated Girona 4-1 in a pre-season friendly.
Max Dowman produced another eye-catching display as Arsenal eased to a 4-1 victory over Girona in Catalonia.
The 16-year-old set up Kai Havertz for the opener before debutant Christos Tzolis doubled the advantage. Girona briefly responded through Arnau Martinez early in the second half, but Arsenal quickly regained control.
According to Sky Sports, Dowman restored Arsenal’s two-goal cushion with a powerful strike before Gabriel Jesus capitalised on a defensive error to complete the scoring.
Mikel Arteta later introduced several academy players as the Gunners comfortably saw out the match. Arsenal will continue their pre-season preparations with a friendly against Real Betis in Dublin on August 5.
