Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United after agreeing an £80 million deal.
Arsenal are on the verge of completing the signing of Bruno Guimaraes, with the Brazil midfielder reportedly set for a medical on Monday before sealing a five-year contract.
The Gunners have agreed an £80 million package, comprising an initial £70 million plus £10 million in add-ons, as Mikel Arteta strengthens his Premier League champions ahead of the new season.
According to The Times, as reported by Football.London, Guimaraes delayed linking up with Newcastle’s pre-season camp after returning from World Cup duty with Brazil.
The report adds that Newcastle had hoped to keep the 28-year-old, but Arsenal have now moved close to finalising one of the summer’s biggest Premier League transfers.
