Arsenal are assessing John Stones and Ezri Konsa as defensive targets following William Saliba’s injury setback.
Arsenal are exploring defensive reinforcements after William Saliba suffered a back injury expected to keep him sidelined for an extended period.
According to CaughtOffside, Mikel Arteta is considering England internationals John Stones and Ezri Konsa as potential additions before the transfer window closes.
Stones is available on a free transfer after leaving Manchester City, while Aston Villa are reportedly seeking around £60 million for Konsa.
The report adds that Saliba’s injury, sustained during the World Cup, has forced Arsenal to reassess their defensive options despite already having Gabriel, Piero Hincapié, Riccardo Calafiori, Ben White and Jurrien Timber in the squad.
Reuters also reported that Saliba will undergo a managed rehabilitation programme after aggravating the injury during France’s World Cup semi-final against Spain.
