Croatia files official complaint against “abuse of technology” after World Cup exit

VIA NDTV SPORT:

Croatia has lodged a formal complaint with FIFA, alleging misuse of ball-sensor technology cost them their round of 32 clash against Portugal.

Croatia’s football federation, HNS, has written to FIFA president Gianni Infantino protesting their round of 32 exit to Portugal. A Josko Gvardiol goal was ruled out after VAR cited an offside detected via sensors in the Trionda ball, picking up a faint touch from Igor Matanovic’s hair. HNS called it an “abuse of technology,” questioning whether the review met the “clear and obvious error” threshold.
