Emerse Fae has left his role as Ivory Coast head coach after the Ivorian Football Federation decided not to renew his contract following a successful two-year spell.
Emerse Fae has officially stepped down as Ivory Coast head coach after the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) confirmed his contract expired on July 31 and would not be renewed.
According to Vanguard News, the former midfielder departs after a successful spell that included guiding the Elephants to the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations title on home soil after taking over midway through the tournament following Jean-Louis Gasset’s dismissal.
Fae was later appointed permanently and also led Ivory Coast to qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the team reached the last 32. The FIF thanked him for his contribution and confirmed that his successor will be announced at a later date.
