Manchester United have reacted to losing out on Aurelien Tchouameni, who’s signed a new Real Madrid deal, by targeting AS Roma’s Manu Kone — though the France international reportedly wants Arsenal.
United’s midfield rebuild rolls on. Having missed out on Tchouameni, who committed his future to Real Madrid until 2031, according to Football365, the Red Devils have shifted focus to Roma’s Manu Kone, with TEAMtalk reporting United are “plotting a move” worth around £50m.
It would be United’s third midfield addition alongside Ederson Silva and Andrey Santos.
Complicating matters, Italian outlets have long reported Kone’s preference lies with Arsenal, who reportedly agreed personal terms and held talks with his representatives back in June.
Roma, needing sales to meet financial regulations, are said to be open to a deal.
