Elliot Anderson has completed his record-breaking move to Manchester City and says he is joining the “kings of Manchester.”
Manchester City have completed the signing of England midfielder Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest in a deal worth £116 million.
The 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract, with the option of an additional year, after finalising the transfer following England’s third-place finish at the World Cup.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Anderson described City as the “kings of Manchester” and said the club’s winning mentality convinced him to join despite interest from Manchester United.
He also revealed Kevin De Bruyne was his football idol and expressed excitement about working under new manager Enzo Maresca as City prepare for the first Manchester derby of the season on September 13.
