PFA charity “seriously mismanaged,” says regulator. Funds at risk due to “serious mismanagement” at the Professional Footballers’ Association Charity, now the Players Foundation. Inquiry found unexplained £1.9m transfer to PFA union and charity covering union’s operating costs. Trustees held PFA roles, creating conflicts of interest. Properties were occupied rent-free. Remedial actions and separation from union are complete.
