Former England captain Wayne Rooney has described Trent Alexander-Arnold’s exclusion from Thomas Tuchel’s England squad as “mind-boggling.” The Real Madrid star has been overlooked for four consecutive squads despite returning from injury. Rooney’s ex-teammate Phil Jagielka, however, believes Alexander-Arnold still merits World Cup selection, saying: “You need your best players.” England open their World Cup campaign against Croatia on June 17.
