The White House says FIFA has informed President Trump that the United States will host the 2031 Women’s World Cup, though the tie-up may hinge on a transgender athlete policy.
The 2031 Women’s World Cup is coming to America, with strings attached., according to a report by Sports Office Sports.
Andrew Giuliani, executive director of the White House Task Force on the FIFA World Cup 2026, told Politico that FIFA has already informed Trump the tournament is headed stateside as part of a joint U.S.-Mexico-Costa Rica-Jamaica bid, the only one on the table.
But Giuliani signaled the administration wants FIFA to lock in a transgender athlete policy before government guarantees, covering security, visas, and taxes, get finalized. FIFA hasn’t formally confirmed a host, with approval expected later this year. Brazil hosts in 2027.
