The Argentine Football Association (AFA) is reportedly weighing legal action over what it considers a misinformation campaign targeting its players during the World Cup.
According to reports attributed to Albiceleste Talks, potential defamation lawsuits would focus on false allegations, manipulated or unverified images, and accusations made without evidence. The claims remain unconfirmed by AFA officials directly.
Per the same reports, the federation intends to pursue the matter comprehensively, targeting major media outlets and social media accounts on platforms including X, Instagram and TikTok, irrespective of follower count.
A legal team is said to be gathering evidence, including posts and screenshots, though no lawsuits have yet been filed and further details are awaited.
