Antonio Conte has decided to leave Napoli at the end of the season without a severance package following an untenable breakdown in his relationship with the club’s hierarchy.
Antonio Conte has decided to leave Napoli at the end of the season, marking an abrupt conclusion to his tenure despite securing the Serie A title and Champions League qualification.
According to Tribuna, football insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed the departure, stating, “Antonio Conte has decided to leave Napoli at the end of the season, it’s over, Fabrizio Romano says.”
The decision was not sudden. Romano revealed that “Conte made his decision and informed the president De Laurentiis already one month ago.”
The exit will be clean financially, as “There will be no exit fee, Conte will leave without severance pay and without any agreement elsewhere,” Romano adds.
While Conte achieved massive on-pitch success this season, his relationship with the Neapolitan club’s hierarchy ultimately became untenable, forcing his upcoming summer departure.
