England and Newcastle United legend Kevin Keegan has passed away at the age of 75 following a battle with stage four stomach cancer, his family announced on Monday.
The Daily Mail reported that the iconic forward died peacefully surrounded by his wife, Jean, and his daughters.
Keegan enjoyed a highly decorated playing career, winning three First Division titles and a European Cup with Liverpool before moving to Hamburg, where he secured back-to-back Ballon d’Or awards in 1978 and 1979.
He later transitioned into a memorable managerial career, famously leading Newcastle United’s “Entertainers” and coaching the England national team. Tributes have poured in from across the footballing world, honoring his lasting legacy.
