Sky Sports reported that the match remained goalless through regulation before Ferran Torres broke the deadlock in the 106th minute, handing La Roja their second World Cup title.
Argentina, the defending champions, were reduced to 10 men after Enzo Fernández received a second yellow card in extra time. Leandro Paredes was also sent off after the final whistle following heated exchanges. Spain dominated possession and created the better chances throughout the contest.
The victory secured Spain’s first men’s World Cup title since 2010 and ended Argentina’s bid to retain the trophy.
